The secrets of the beautiful Japanese healing modality Reiki are contained in the word. The word Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom and Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. Therefore Reiki healing is the energy that is transmitted through the practitioner from a universal energy source (“rei”) to the client to improve their individual life-force energy (“ki”.) You could think of it as hooking a person up to a cosmic battery for a recharge.

This gentle, yet powerful healing treatment (often a laying-on of hands treatment, but can be done remotely) balances a person on all levels… clearing “blockages” and increasing vitality on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. It is performed with clothes on while you lay on a massage table allowing the practitioner to move along your body from head to toe. It can feel like a glowing, caressing light that moves through you and around you. And you might feel tingling sensations and warmth too. Reiki can bring about immediate feelings of relaxation, comfort and peace.

Reiki healing energy is a very high-vibrational energy that penetrates the physical body as well as the spiritual body (auric layers and chakras) of the recipient. Natural balance that has been compromised by stress and life events is restored. In addition, it is preventative medicine. You can proactively treat imbalances on any level (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) before they manifest into acute conditions or illness. At the least, Reiki helps to reduce stress and restore harmony, wholeness, wellness and joy within.
